Location: South Bend, IN (On-Site)

Join a Team Built on Craft, Care, and Integrity

Founded in 1984, Peacock & Company has earned a lasting reputation for delivering beautiful, functional, and enduring remodels throughout the Michiana area. We combine thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship, and a collaborative, learning-based project culture. We are not a hard-sell organization. We win work because of trust, relationship-building, design expertise, and transparency. Our goal is always the same: create spaces that feel deeply personal, well-built, and worth living in.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Lead Designer/Sales Manager to guide our design vision and sales performance, develop our design team, and take ownership of delivering a polished client experience from first inquiry through construction handoff. This is a key leadership role with high autonomy and direct strategic impact.

The Lead Designer/Sales Manager oversees the full Design and Sales function, ensuring that potential clients are thoughtfully guided, designs align with our quality and aesthetic standards, and sales performance goals are achieved. This role includes:

  • Design leadership
  • Team management/development
  • Sales strategy + pipeline management
  • Owning and designing your own projects

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and evaluate all designers and sales staff
  • Interview, hire, onboard, train, and mentor team members
  • Lead weekly design/sales team meetings
  • Oversee lead intake, assignment, and follow-through
  • Track and manage pipeline, lead time, and revenue targets
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals are met
  • Maintain high-quality interactions with clients at every stage
  • Serve as a designer/salesperson on your own portfolio of projects
  • Create thoughtful, functional, beautiful solutions for kitchens, baths, additions, and whole-home remodels
  • Work collaboratively with Production to ensure smooth project handoffs
  • Participate in weekly leadership team meetings
  • Participate in post-project autopsies to review cost vs. estimates and refine the process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, or a similar field (preferred but not required)
  • 5 or more years of residential design experience (kitchen & bath or full remodel)
  • 5 or more years of sales experience in remodeling, construction, or residential design-build
  • Broad understanding of residential construction--from foundation to finishes
  • Previous leadership or team oversight experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to lift/move up to 20 lbs and perform site measurements
  • Ability to see and interpret details and color accurately
  • Basic field measuring tools are required (tape measure, laser measure, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Professional communication, presence, and client etiquette
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational follow-through
  • Proficiency in Chief Architect or 2020 (or similar design programs)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time, exempt, commission-based role.
  • This position is commission-based, with earning potential tied directly to sales outcomes. Historically, this role has earned ~$150,000+ annually, with no cap on upside.
  • Company-provided vehicle, laptop and iPad
  • Company-matching retirement plan
  • Company-subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off & paid holidays
  • Quarterly company performance bonuses
  • Company-provided uniforms
  • Tool & professional development support
  • Standard schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with flexibility depending on client meetings

Why You'll Love Working Here

  • Autonomy with support -- Lead your department without being micromanaged
  • A learning-first culture -- We improve together, without blame or ego
